ok i personallly think thats out of order.... LUCKILY MY PARENTS WERE'NT COUSIN!! but my uncle married his cousin sister, nd apparently in science it was said that if people get mariied to their cousin the DNA seems to be similar therefore" theres more of chances for their babies to be abnormal!! 1. yes it will not be healthy for your child they are very likely to come out having problems

  2. I dont think its right for cousins to marry each other. It just complicates things and there's a higher risk of their children having abnormalities so i dont think it is okay for cousins to marry.

  3. It is islamically allowed and it's ok as a last option but I don't think it is right when people only ever get married in family as too many family marriages cause abnormal kids- since they dont get any fresh genes. Some people are helpless and have no other option but to marry a cousin, but when people have many other options, I think it's very wrong! If it's a 2nd cousin or a distant cousin, I guess that's not too bad. Also, other than the DNA problem, I think family marriages cause a lot of family rifts as well so it's best to get married outside the family =]

  4. like nerd said, it's not wrong in Islam - but I personally wouldn't go for my first cousin. especially if I have grown up with them, and our family are very close. If it's a second cousin or someone in far relation I wouldn't mind. =)

Getting married in family and not in family both have good and bad things. To be honest about the abnormal child isn't always the case. It's basically up to God who he chooses to grant a child who isn't fully capable for themselves, but yes some cases it's a little obvious that the chances of such thing happening are high. I hope this helps. =)

  7. there is nothing sick or disgusting about it. IT was once a common practice to keep family trait lines pure, especially the Royal Families. Somewhere along the way, a Royal line had poor recessive trait that surfaced because of the inter-family breeding. Because of ignorance about DNA at that time, everybody began to believe that incest created damaged babies. And over the years, many taboos have been created about the topic.

It's legal to marry your cousin in 26 States and worldwide, 20% of marriages are with cousins.

  8. It is common in many cultures and is not the least bit harmful. In fact, you will probably have more in common with a cousin than with someone unrelated. And, you'll have a large extended family that already loves both of you.

  12. It's allowed in Islam and I don't know about it causing abnormalities/problems - I have relatives who have married their cousins and their children are fine. Also, sometimes it can be a good thing because the two families will be related and so the couple are more likely to work harder at the marriage. Yes, slightly weird and wrong if you've grown up to know that cousin all your life but I don't see the harm in it being a distant cousin.
