   Hi there, You are right, Honestly is always the best policy being lied to to stay happy doesnt always help, it feels false and makes everything else that much more dishonest and fake. Being told the truth and being sad is better as you will get over it one day and everyone always deserves the simple and honest truth.

    I'd rather be told the truth and be hurt. No matter how bad the truth is, like Tammy said you'll get over that hurt one day and definitely hold more respect for the person. If someone lied to me simply to keep me happy, that would probably hurt more. Generally, honesty is the best policy but if you can truly benefit someone by lying then maybe - although everyone deserves the truth :)
