seems to be the ideal form of government to me, Lebanons
Lebanon is a parliamentary democracy, which implements a special system known as confessionalism.[65] This system is intended to deter sectarian conflict and attempts to fairly represent the demographic distribution of the 18 recognized religious groups in government.[66][67] High-ranking offices are reserved for members of specific religious groups. The President, for example, has to be a Maronite Christian, the Prime Minister a Sunni Muslim, the Speaker of the Parliament a Shi’a Muslim, the Deputy Prime Minister and the Deputy Speaker of Parliament Greek Orthodox.[68][69]
Lebanon's national legislature is the unicameral Parliament of Lebanon. Its 128 seats are divided equally between Christians and Muslims, proportionately between the 18 different denominations and proportionately between its 26 regions.[70] Prior to 1990, the ratio stood at 6:5 in favor of Christians; however, the Taif Accord, which put an end to the 1975–1990 civil war, adjusted the ratio to grant equal representation to followers of the two religions.[68] The Parliament is elected for a four-year term by popular vote on the basis of sectarian proportional representation.[3]
The executive branch consists of the President, the head of state, and the Prime Minister, the head of government. The parliament elects the president for a non-renewable six-year term by a two-third majority. The president appoints the Prime Minister,[71] following consultations with the parliament. The President and the Prime Minister form the Cabinet, which must also adhere to the sectarian distribution set out by confessionalism.

Report abusethats quite interesting, seems like discrimination..
lol x
Wow, i find that to be a rather interesting article, however although confessionalism aims to avoid sectarian conflict i find that it may be doing quite the opposite.
For example why does high ranking have to be christians and a deputy speaker of parliament be of unorthodox greek?
Why is this based on ranking rather than distributing the 18 recognised religions in the country evenly amongst the government whatever the rank and status?
This can be veiwed in two ways but i beleive it is fair to an extent in an attempt to get each religion in but it being based on ranking just doesnt do it for me in my opinon.
I hope this helps and be sure to keep yabbing =)
That is discrimination on another level. They should be thrown into river thames
