  1. Like plumchum said, it's the same as an ATM system. The store charges your debit card/credit card some money and gives that exact same amount back to you in cash.

  2. Basically it's like an ATM system. Suppose you want £20 cash back from tescos, they will charge you £20 on your debit/credit card and just give you £20 back in cash. It's useful if you need cash and don't want to go to an ATM machine

    for example if u wanted £10 ..instead of finding a cash machine and taking money out...U say £10 when they ask u if u would like cashback..

    you pay the store £10 by debit card > they give you £10 back in cash
