Which one did you go to? One of my older friends described it as "The best years of her life".

Report abuseI will second that truly the best years of my life.
I've yet to start this september. =o
Not sure what to make of it really, its a scary thought but hopefully i shall be able to share the same opinion as your older friend in a few years time. =)
I left school at sixteen and was married and a mother at eighteen but when I was twenty-two I entered university as a "mature student", which i was then able to do by means of an entrance examination rather than having "A" levels. Of course, after being out of education for several years I found it difficult to get back into learning mode, but once here I had a great time. I love learning for its own sake, but sitting around in the union bar, arguing or discussing anything and everything was a real brain booster..meeting people from all over the country and outside of it, people with whom I had much or nothing in common except that we were in the same university..I did not love every minute of it, I am a nervous exam taker at best..but it was a great experience and I am glad that I did not miss out on it.
The university I attended was Wolverhampton, not one of the greats by any means but a degree is a degree, no matter where it come from and I contend that it takes more real work to get through in one of the smaller, less well funded uni's than in one which attracts the best teachers and has acres of libraries and laboratories. In any case, I was married and had to chose a place near where I lived at the time. If you can go then go, it is a whole lot better than school and far more interesting than working believe me.
it is a really good fun experince
Yes, i do and will continue to do so! I love it despite some of the stress it brings. You make lovely friends, learn valuable stuff and totally enjoy urself. If i could go again in like 5years time- I would!
I am going into my third year of university next month. I do enjoy it a lot but I think my secondary school days were the best years of my life, not uni.
But uni is definately a lot of fun as you become much more independent than you were at school. If anything, university makes you a more independent and mature person.
I'll be going into my third and final year this September, and there isn't really anything I would change about my previous two years. Yes, at times I could've worked harder, revised more etc but it's helped me in many ways. It's definitely made me more independent, yet better at working with other people too. I have gained so much knowledge on a subject I truly enjoy and most importantly made some wonderful friends that I hope will be a part of my life for many years to come :)
i started uni last yr. it was better than i thought it'd be. not hard like i imagined and my new friends are so lovely! i really like uni
