I keep having this problem when my friend trys video calling me, he cannot see me and i cannot hear him..do you think i should reinstall skype?

   Unfortunately if this is your first time using skype then all the people above me are "wrong"
   
   The reason its not working is because skype doesnt know which drivers to use, if you go into options and audio settings you need to pick from the drop list click OK and KA BanG Ms.Dhillon your all ready to go..

   Have you tried restarting your laptop.. my mic fails to work sometimes all i do is restart it works!

    Yes just reinstall it. It's probably just a minor error with the app in itself- make sure you restart your computer/laptop when you reinstall it as well. And if that doesn't work, go with what emoness said. He looks like he knows what he's talking about lol =]
