Tags: On a Blackberry hw do you change the signal if right now its sayin edge instead of gprs
Report abuseHey sam-sam
I had that same problem, its actually the same thing
Edge and Gprs are pretty much the same, you cant really change it to be honest, so long as the signal operates the same then its fine,
Welcome to yabyab sam
Actually Edge is a little better than GPRS,
i did a little research and found this..
The current scenario clearly states that EDGE will definitely score higher than GPRS. The former, allows its users to increase the data speed and throughput capacity, to around 3-4 times higher than GPRS.
Secondly, it allows the existing GSM or the TDMA carriers to give the sophisticated 3G services. And with 1600 Million subscribers of GSM in over 170 countries, offer the full Global Roaming, anywhere between India to Japan and to San Fransisco.
Based on an 8 PSK modulation, it allows higher bit rate accross the air Interface.
One Symbol for every 3 bits. Thus, EDGE Rate = 3x GPRS Rate.

If one looks at these features, the thinking can't be stopped that really, EDGE is over GPRS, but this is the time where the IMT-UMTS come into action. The technology that is providing Always On feature of the Internet, and an excellent billing sub-system, clearly shall be preferred for 3G. The technology has to change,
So basically, lucky you!
Haha, thats all techno jibberish but im sure you'll find that Edge seems to be a good signal carrier :)
Hey sam, i wouldnt worry about it, mine did that too, i bet you'll find your phone is working fine though right?
anyways
Your question above, has a comma which is why its not working,
Go into 'my account' which is next to your 'log out' button and click on it and find 'my questions'
click on that and 'edit' your question by removing the comma.
edge ad gprs aree like the samething anyway when i wanted gprs the lady on the fone said it should say one or the other so dw
whatever blobby
i dont think you can,. a blackberry has a mind of its own
dont think u can
do a battery pull- leave the phone on and take the buttery out for 30 seconds. When you put it back in, it should be back to gprs. but if that doesnt work, call up your network provider as there could be something wrong with the phone model itself :s
