    welcome to yabyab
wrong category - should be under psychology

The purpose of stats in psychology is to give you a scope and better understanding of how well an experiment went etc.
Numbers and facts give you a view of how effective something was and this enbales you to create quantitative data where you can find correlations as well as relationships and differences.
