   Good afternoon,
   
   This is a good question, the thing about me personally when I joined colege and university I stayed cautious I don't need such slang talking friends with typical minds to get out of studying and get straight outside to start trouble hitting on girls or just wasting time in general.
   
   The friends you do need are the 1s you can take home, and the ones who can talk to your mummy and daddy in the correct manner the 1s that speak positively and want to be something in life like yourself.
   
   Conclusion; if you have such friends with positivity it will only push you to do better and greater things I hope this answers the question as for parents yes I would definently be worried if I saw my daughter or sons behaviour change and this could be caused with 1 thing and one thing only and thats the crowd they are hanging with so yes it would be normal to be worried

   It's true well in life you experience things and i have to say hanging around with the wrong type does influence you alot
   well now as i've seen through it that yeh your parents always will think that from seeing your friends and if they do you know to keep your distance, i thank god i haven't met alot of people like that some just people are not true to themselfs or to you out ther!
   if my parents say it i'd walk away!

   Truth is that you only hang around with people who are like you.
   If you're into your studies and one of those people who go to university to learn and come straight home, I don't think you would get along with people who are more outgoing, as you would have no mutual topic of discussion/interest. But if you're one of those people who get influenced quickly, you would end up becoming like them just to fit in.
   If you know you're one of those people who get influenced easily, you should try to stay away from people who might influence you in bad ways. However, if you are one of those people who don't get influenced that quickly, it shouldn't matter who you hang around with that much :)
   
   Also, I think if you're older (late teens), you are less likely to get influenced by others as you're sure of who you are by that age. It's more likely for someone younger (early teens) to get influenced more quickly.

    Yes, most definitely so , but they are right to think so, it is true but in my case i know who to choose to be freinds with and who not to be, its clear who wants to be something in life and who doesnt, those who swear and simply have no morals or values i steer clear from.
