So usually when you see sales in shops, the thing that attracts you is the masssive 50% OFF sign, but what we never do is read the small print.
The two little words in the beginning saying 'up to'
Its so tiny yet its ingenius as not many customers see it and they get hooked in.
I find that to be incredibly deceiving,
My question is do you sometimes fall into that trap as well, Where you tend to miss the small print?
Heres an example, ... http://www.theshoppingmag.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/summer-shoes-on-sale.jpg
Look at how tiny the 'up to' is.

Report abuseLOL thats so true :O always happens to me, so sly
You're right about many customers getting hooked in but I wouldn't say it is deceiving as the words are there. Everything has small print and if you fail to read it, you're setting yourself up to be deceived. Also, legally the company's couldn't put that up if there wasn't at least a few items that were 50% off but that stock is most probably going to be very limited.
so TRUE you go in only to find out its 5% not 50% lol
SO TRUEEEEEEEEEEE
yes they do it all the time. Especially the clothing stores. What else happens is they increase the price then put on the reduction
